  • Bobcat Licence (Skid Steer) Ticket
  • Roller Operator Licence
  • Excavator Licence

Mark has worked at BGH Commercial for that past five years and was the first employee on the civil side of BGH Commercial, mainly focusing on general earthworks, house pads large and small, and cut and fills.

Mark has been in the construction industry for close to 20 years. Previously owner and operator of a local Bobcat and Trucking business, and working with other companies big and small, such as CEC Civil, LDI Civil and FTH Civil.

BGH Commercial is by far the greatest company Mark has enjoyed working with in his time across the industry. Working with Brendan Grant has enabled Mark to learn and come a long way in his career over the past five years and being treated like a member of the family from the get-go.

Mark also enjoys what he does, the day-to-day house pads is Mark’s forte, and he truly loves it. As everyone would know in the office Mark finds the paperwork the most challenging and working on wet days can be extremely frustrating whilst operating machinery.

Graeme obtained his Electrical License in 1992 and obtained his Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate soon after and over the years has maintained his skills as more modern technology arises. Graeme has been an Electrical sub-contractor across many leading commercial projects, also working for Boral as an on-site electrician and air conditioning installer. As a qualified electrician and air conditioning refrigerant technician, Graeme brings many quality skills to the BGH Commercial team as a Site Foreman, Project and OH&S Manager, Project Manager & Estimator, including being a Labourer, Truck Driver and Machine Operator.

‘Everything takes balance’, says Graeme. Ensuring the perfect balance between staff, projects, clients and still progress through each day-to-day tasks, whilst achieving results for our clients. There are always challenges in our roles, whether it’s managing people, pouring a concrete driveway, managing trucks on-site, scheduling workloads a month in advance, re-roofing a building in the wet season or during a Christmas break, they all have a process that needs to be followed to complete the task successfully.

Graeme’s role is quite wide in its scope, so the variety and complexity of projects are rewarding and interesting aspects at BGH Commercial and working with Brendan and the rest of our team is a bonus. As BGH Commercial is a Master Builders Queensland member, there are a variety of events we get involved with, through annual Golf Days, Construction Training and Information days.

Richard Holme

  • Forklift Licence Holder & White card
  • High Risk Work - LF Forklift
  • CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry
  • Construction Induction – RTO No. 40592

Richard is our maintenance team member and brings much expertise to the team since 2021. From fixing minor machinery breakdowns, carrying out machinery maintenance, picking up parts and deliveries.

Richard assists at work sites with set up and clean up, fencing, dust prevention and coordinating the replenishment of consumables in our workshop.

He also carries out stock inventory, organising the servicing of trucks and machines, ordering fuel, oil and grease, some welding and manufacture when needed and keeping work sites tidy.

Previously Richard worked in grain and cattle at North Star NSW, Moura and Mt Garnet, dozer and tractor driving until he commenced his venture with BGH Commercial.

Time is always a challenge with either prioritising which job to do first, getting all tasks completed or getting a piece of machinery available to complete a minor repair which doesn’t stop its operation.

Richard really appreciated being involved in a business where there is pride in looking after our gear, the customer and doing the best job possible.

This starts with Brendan and is repeated down the company structure of employees to the task at hand. While there are always problems that arise, seeing the customer as the priority and a first-grade service provided by BGH is most gratifying.

Brad McClunie
Fleet Manager | Machine, Truck and Dog Operator
  • Heavy Combination Truck Licence
  • Bobcat Licence (Skid Steer) Ticket
  • Roller Operator Licence
  • Excavator Licence
  • White card for Construction Industry

Brad’s key roles at BGH Commercial include the safe operation of machines and vehicles to keep in line with BGH Commercial’s high standards of workmanship and supports team members where needed with the day-to-day operation of earthworks.

Brad is an experienced machine operator with over 25 years’ experience in the industry operating mostly Skid Steers, Excavators and Rollers, with close to 25,000hrs in a Skid Steer alone.

Learning from a young age and establishing his own business in 2004 which grew over a six year term and employed seven staff. Brad sold this business to have a break and spend time with his young family at the time. Started another business in 2013 based in New Zealand, which kept him busy until he relocated his family to Australia in 2021 chasing the warmer weather and more sun.

The most challenging part in construction of any kind is dealing with the weather and how that affects our workload. What I love about working at BGH Commercial is firstly the top of the line gear we get to use, everything is new or near new, no expense spared when it comes to maintaining the gear. We always feel safe and happy to operate anything here, if somethings not right it gets sorted straight away, that’s something BGH Commercial and our team are proud to have.

We have a great team from owners and management, so easy to deal with and very family orientated, with having four children myself. There’s always something happening or pops up; I find Brendan is a very understanding Manager and works with any situation.

Travis Boyle
Project Manager | Foreman/ Supervisor
  • Certificate III in Construction/ Carpentry
  • Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Licence
  • Bobcat Licence (Skid Steer) Ticket
  • Roller Operator Licence
  • Excavator Licence
  • White card for Construction Industry

Travis’ key roles at BGH Commercial range from site measure, design, proceeding onto quoting and ordering of materials. Also, working with the following BGH team and contractors to deliver quality workmanship on time and budget for the customer.

Travis originally started working at Brendan Grant Homes in 2015 working alongside Brendan himself delivering award winning homes and can’t see himself going anywhere as there is always something new to learn.

Bringing 22 years’ experience in the building industry to BGH Commercial allows Travis to manage a variety of complex tasks for the team and customers. Travis started his apprenticeship in 2001 where he learnt concreting, solid render, carpentry, tiling, welding, and gyprock. Then worked for a Construction Company doing prefab housing for the northern communities site installations and factory fabrication, welding and roofing. In 2011 Travis worked for a residential builder on custom homes and subcontracting work for a further three years, which brings Travis to date at BGH commercial where he’s continued to learn new things, such as aluminium welding, machine operations, quoting projects, administration and organising trades.

Travis enjoys meeting people throughout a project and building relationships to gain further knowledge along with the variety of job sites they get to travel to, but coordinating contractors and workloads in the wet season to stay on schedule remains a challenge in any construction capacity.

Travis has been lucky enough to be invited to the Master Builders Queensland Award Winners night when they were successful in winning multiple prestigious housing awards. Also, the industry golf days are a great meet and greet with a sneaky beer.
